Enrol to vote today - Make sure your voice is heard

Together, we will choose who will be making the decisions that affect our everyday lives for the next three years.

So let’s make sure our voices are heard.

Make sure you and your communities are enrolled to vote they can have their say in the 2020 General Election and referendums. If you'd like our support or be connected to the Electoral Commission to support your communities to be enrolled, informed and voting, then please contact us on communications@belong.org.nz

Voting begins from the 3rd October, with election day on the 17th October. Below is some key information you can share with your communities:

Enrol by Sunday 13 September, to make voting easier as you'll recieve:

  • A voting information pack

  • An EasyVote card which makes voting faster

You can vote if you:

  • 18 years or older

  • A New Zealand citizen or permanent resident (For electoral purposes, you are a permanent resident if you’re in New Zealand legally and not required to leave within a specific time).

  • AND have lived in New Zealand continuously for 12 months or more at some time in your life.

To enrol or update your details you can:

  • Go online vote.nz using a New Zealand driver licence, New Zealand passport or RealMe verified identity

  • Fill out a paper enrolment form – download one from the website, call 0800 36 76 56 or text your name and address to 3676 to have a form sent to you.

What am I voting for: 

  • One Party vote

  • One Candidate vote 

  • Yes or No about End of Life Choice

  • Yes or No about Recreational Use of Cannabis
