Kahika Employment Programme

The Kahika Employment Programme supports rangatahi and adults to build employment skills, confidence, and job readiness through practical workshops, mentoring, and hands-on experience.

The current youth employment programme has delivered multiple core sessions covering values and Te Tiriti, goal setting, communication skills, CV writing, and job search strategies

Barista and Food Control Plan Training

Belong Aotearoa delivers two practical training programmes in partnership with Wesley Community Centre, designed to build skills, confidence, and pathways to employment or self-employment for migrants, former refugees, youth, and local community members.

Barista Training provides hands-on coffee-making, machine handling, and customer service skills for adults and youth.

Food Control Plan Training equips participants to understand food safety regulations, implement a Food Control Plan, maintain hygiene standards, and prepare for council registration. Sessions are designed to be culturally accessible and inclusive, supporting diverse pathways into the food industry.

These programmes are popular, and places are always in demand.
