Join our free empowering 10-day programme to gain confidence, key skills, and build employer connections.
Kahika is an employment programme that supports rangatahi from ethnic, migrant, and refugee-background communities to take their first steps into employment. Together, youth will be supported to gain new skills and connections to support their employment journey.
Programme Details
Dates: Monday 28 September – Friday 9 October 2026. (Term 3 School Holidays)
*Please note: The programme runs STRICTLY ON WEEKDAYS (Monday to Friday). There are no weekend sessions.*
Time: Sessions run daily from 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM.
Location: Wesley Community Centre, Mount Roskill, Auckland
Cost: 100% Free! (Participants must arrange their own transport to and from the venue).
Who Can Join: Youth aged 16–24 from ethnic, migrant, and refugee backgrounds living in Auckland
Food will be provided
What Participants Can Expect
Throughout the 10-day programme, participants will dive into life and leadership development, alongside hands-on employment skills workshops like CV writing and interview preparation. You will also have the chance to practice mock interviews and connect directly with local employers and mentors. Upon successful completion of the programme, all participants will be awarded a formal Certificate of Completion to add to their professional portfolios.

Information for Mentors
Kahika is a collaborative model by design, and we are always looking for professionals and community leaders willing to mentor a young person. Mentors provide crucial real-world insights, help facilitate networking, and offer constructive feedback during our practical sessions.
The Kahika Programme invites established professionals and community leaders to guide diverse youth entering Aotearoa’s workforce. Your participation provides critical momentum for their professional development.
