Dennis leads one of New Zealand’s fastest growing trade unions with members across retail, finance, transport, logistics, manufacturing, and ambulance. He is a well-known activist and union leader who has helped lead campaigns to improve the lives of migrant workers. He founded the network of migrant workers within FIRST Union (UNEMIG). Born in the Philippines, he became the first Asian New Zealander to lead a major trade union, when appointed to his current role in 2017.
