Information for Businesses
In this time of economic recovery, let us help you tap into an underutilised talent pool and foster inclusion for business growth and success.
Businesses who take on an intern through the Belonging Through Employment Internship Programme, will benefit from:
Skilled professionals who are work-ready, highly motivated and fully supported.
Free staff development training such as ‘Working with newcomers’ session and unconscious bias training to build welcoming and inclusive teams.
Structured support via an intern coordinator at Belong Aotearoa, reachable at any time.
Clear goals and work tasks agreed by both parties (with our support) before internship begins.
Opportunities for your staff to share their skills and mentor someone while gaining deeper insights into diverse experiences and perspectives.
A short-term commitment capped at up to three-months.
Promotion as an internship partner to strengthen your reputation as an inclusive and welcoming employer.
Supporting NZ to retain the expertise of skilled migrants who have made New Zealand their home.
We’re looking for business partners that can:
Contribute at least 50% of intern (living) wage.
Provide a supportive manager and team for the intern to join.
Provide interesting and meaningful work that aligns with the intern’s area of expertise.
Provide a local reference after the internship.
Connect the intern with a professional network (where possible).
Share their successes and learnings from the internship to help us grow and improve the programme moving forward.
